Private View – Friday 4 October, 5pm – 10pm, all very welcome
(Important Update : Electric Earth will now happen at THE LADDER in Redruth, sadly not at AH. For those unsure, The Ladder is just down the road from Auction House, on Clinton Rd. So not far at all.
We want to say a MASSIVE thank you to the The Ladder team for being so accommodating at such short notice, and helping save the day on this one)
From fantastical cut-out floral life (Findhorn Follies, 2024) to a filmic siren heralding an uncertain ecological future (Electric Earth, 2023) to towering paint-smeared latex panels (Lichen Lovers, 2024)
Electric Earth reflects on a sense of place as defined by “a processing of the earth”. Across moving image, painting, poetry, and installation, a generative layering of materials, gestures, and encounters make natural circumstances palpable.
The spatial configuration of the installation transforms the gallery into an experiential path, a fluid journey in and through the space. Fragments, moments, reflection, deep listening - a sensorial questioning felt in the body.
Anne will expand on the installation, inviting the public to contribute objects off and from the land which speak loosely to the idea of 'Electric Earth'. This evolving collection is housed in a flammable materials cabinet along with Anne’s magical clay fragments.
The installation is also a ‘set’, the starting point for Anne’s new film Red Ruth, which conjures mystical and geological spaces that relate to the Celtic connections between Cornwall and Scotland. Anne will gather action-based, gestural, and ephemeral footage through encounters at The Ladder.
